Nikki Sullivan always loved creating sweet treats for her family and friends and when she discovered she could use wood cuts, modelling clay, natural textures, and even 3D printing to create truly unique chocolate moulds, a world of possibility opened up, and Story Box Chocolates was born – a place where delicious sweets and beautiful art meet.
“I wanted to create thoughtful, complete gifts,” says Nikki. “The chocolates are designed to tell a little story or evoke a memory, like a day at the beach or a walk in the forest. It’s something a little out of the ordinary for a special present, or just a treat for yourself! There are matching cards so you can add your own message or memory too.”
Nikki had been in business for a couple of years and done some markets, online sales and retail before discovering The Kitchen Project. “I met someone at Grey Lynn Markets who had done the programme, so I enquired and ended up applying. It was an amazing experience, I learnt from the presentations the speakers gave, but also caught something from each speaker about their viewpoint on having, or being in, a food business. It was all so helpful and actually resulted in me doing a rebrand – I’m so excited about Story Box’s future now.”
